why are my jetpack site stats wrong?
-
I just launched a self-hosted WordPress site http://wifemeetslife.com. The site stats provided by setback are WAY too high; there is no way I’m getting that many page views. How do I fix it?

Howdy,
It sounds like your views to your site are possibly being recorded.
Could you make sure that you’re signed into your dashboard when you view your site?
That should prevent your views from being registered.
-
I am signed in. The number of views being recorded is way higher than even my views would make it.
-
Your totals are adding up correctly, but I can’t find any reason for them to be so high yet.
We’re looking into this.

Basically, your site is being hit several times by your own Pinterest plugin, which appears to be “Pinterest Pin it Button.”
We’re not sure why or how, but we’re pretty much sure that’s the cause.
If you switch to a different plugin, or get the developer to fix whatever is up, you future numbers should be a bit more normal, but we can’t retroactively fix your existing numbers.
Your site is also incredibly slow. My CPU is capping at about 70% a minute into loading your front page, and it still hasn’t finished loading, so this Pinterest plugin could be causing the slowness as well.
-
Okay. I’ll delete that plugin and see if it solves the problem. I had noticed the slowness, too.
