Why are my latest sticky posts not showing up on the home page ?

My latest sticky posts are not showing up on my home page. But the home page shows only the non-sticky posts. The slider however shows the latest sticky post featured image.
Please could someone tell me where things are going wrong.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When posts display in a featured post slider they do display in the stream of posts on the same page as that would be duplicate display. Consult your theme description page here first http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/itheme2/

I had a look at the links but I still fail to understand why only the non-sticky posts are showing up on the home page. I would like that my recent posts show up on the home page, whether they are sticky or not. I chose to make the posts sticky so I could use the slider option.
Does it mean if I need to have the recent posts displayed on the home page, I have to not make them sticky ?

How many post have you set to display on the front page at
Dashboard – Settings _ Reading
Front page displays
Blog pages show at most __ pôsts

It was set to 1 earlier but I have now set to 5 but the problem remains. In fact, the home page shows only the non-sticky posts. All I want is recent posts on the home page, sticky or not, which is what a home page I thought is about.

Sorry bit I do not have the time to set up the theme on my test blog and experiment with it. I tagged this thread for Themes Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. Note there is a backlog so you will have to wait patiently for Staff help.

Thank you, @raincoaster, that is what I thought she meant. It looks like, if you have featured/sticky posts, then home page does not display recent posts by default.

Hi there! Your site running iTheme2 http://youngatfifty.wordpress.com is currently set (under Settings > Reading) to display only one post, which is what I’m seeing at the moment. It’s displaying the post titled “Owl cushion,” which is your most recently published post.
I don’t see any sticky posts or a slider on your homepage.
If you could explain in a bit more detail how this is different from what you expect (or would like) to see on your homepage, I’d be glad to take another look. Thanks.
