Why are my notifications going to two email addresses?

I created a new email address specifically for my website to keep my emails for the blog separate from my personal emails (easier to keep track of business/personal that way) … yet when I subscribed to someone else’s blog and they post new content I get emailed notifications to both my personal and blog email addresses.
At first I thougt maybe I’d mistakenly subscribed to this other person’s blog twice, once using each of my email addresses … so I went to the notification in my personal email inbox and clicked the link to edit settings … and it brought me to my wordpress page for my blog. I’m not sure how the two have been connected. I looked in the Settings -> Genteral tab but the email there is the separate email I created for my blog. Where else should I look?
