Why are my posts being deleted from certain sites?

I am finding that some posts I have made to some of your sites are shown on the website, but minutes later they are deleted. I do not use bad language, nor do I make salacious statements. Please tell me why this particular post was found to be offensive or not worthy of your site. It was posted on ProFootballTalk’s site under PFT’s post, “Ravens Offer Support.” It concerns the Ray Rice allegations.

“Way to jump to conclusions that Rice had to have done what he is being accused of and/or it couldn’t have been the first time he’s done what he is being accused of.

Look, I am far from a Rice apologist, but he is entitled to and deserves due process. I have no idea if he committed these crimes nor do any of you. We need to let the legal process play out and if he is indeed found guilty of these crimes I hope he is punished to the fullest extent of the law and his NFL career is either curtailed or ended.”

That is a VIP hosted site and like any blog the blogger can choose exactly which comments to posts and which not to approve. We cannot help you with this issue.

Is there anyway to contact the host to ask my original question? Reason I’m asking is that my posts are usually very innocuous and I notice some that are reprehensible from others. Just trying to find out the standards.

WordPress doesn’t censor the content of people’s blogs, they would suspend an entire blog for being offensive or against terms of service, but do not edit individual posts.

On the other hand the blog owner can censor what appears on their own site. I think your issue is with the blog owner deleting your comment (which they are allowed to do) rather than wordpress.

Eeek! Sorry TT, we all commented at the same time! :)

There doesn’t appear to be a way to contact the blog owner via the site. That’s why I was asking you for help. Really wish someone knew a way to contact the blog owner.

The blog didn’t delete the comment on its own, the owner/administrator must have done it. Making a comment on a blog is contacting the owner.

Just for clarity, posts are what the blog owner writes and publishes, comments are the things readers can make at the end of the post. You originally said some of your posts were deleted when they were comments.

Make another comment asking for clarity if you want, if the owner doesn’t want to answer or deletes it you have still made contact with them. There are no rules as to what comments a blog owner can approve, if they don’t want your comments there they don’t have to let them through.
