Why are my reading settings not taking effect?

  I have adjusted my reading settings to show a summary only and to not show categories or tags. I have saved these settings. However, my home page (which is set to show my latest posts) still shows the full post and the categories/tags box between each. Please help me figure out why these settings aren’t taking effect!

  I actually just changed the home page to a static page and the post page to “news and events”, but I’m still seeing full posts instead of summaries and the categories and tags boxes.

  Those settings only affect what’s shown in the feed and your subscription emails.

  To display excerpts on the blog itself, you’ll need to manually split the content: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
