Why are my site stats duplicating themselves?
-
In the last few days I’ve been noticing that several people’s subscriptions have duplicated themselves in my site stats. I keep looking at the number of stats and they increase only to go to the page and see that there are duplicates of the same people. Can you please do something about this only it makes it look like there are more subscribers than there actually are. Thank you.

Hi there,
I do see a handful of users are listed twice as subscribers to your blogs. Do you know if this started happening recently?
We have had some issues with our Reader in the past few days. Is it possible that these subscribers attempted to follow your blog again due to this error on our end?

Evarlese, thanks for your reply. It started happening two or three days ago.
I don’t think it was due to the Reader problem. Now one of my subscribers who had appeared twice, has emailed to say that his subs have vanished altogether and he can’t subscribe again. I’ve just had a look and he’s right – he’s gone completely from my subs, yet one of the most recent people to subscribe is still duplicated.I hope staff can fix this.

One final question :) For any of the users that are subscribed twice, do you know if they’re receiving duplicate subscriptions?
Generally speaking, it’s better to resolve things like this – in as much as it’s possible – from the user-end so that us staff don’t accidentally change the subscription settings for any of the readers.
However, if you can confirm that your readers don’t see your blog appearing twice in their “Blogs I Follow” feed, we can go ahead and take a closer look.

This seems to have been sorted out now. Thought I’d just let you know. I’ll hang on for another few days and check that it’s settled. Thanks.
