Why are my stats wrong?
-
There are 5 likes on my post, but my stats show only 1 view for the whole day. Same as yesterday – in fact, it didn’t even show that there were any views on the “liked” post! I posted a question on the forum, there has been no response. Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It might be that they don’t actually click onto your blog. If you’ve used tags, your post will appear under these tags in the Reader and they can like it without even visiting your actual website.
Hopefully that helps, I’m not sure if it’s the definitive answer but when my stats are low but my likes are high, this was my conclusion.

Thanks for responding! I’ll definitely check out the tags.
If that was the case, though, wouldn’t my summary still show tick for “Home Page/Archives,” if not the original post. In this case, I’ve got at least 5 likes on each of my 2 posts, but my summary is showing only 1 view total on the entire blog, when there should be at least 10.
I’m not having the same problem on my other blog, so I don’t think it’s the browser.
Then again, I could be just complicating things because I haven’t had my coffee! I will definitely check out your suggestion. I’m really, really grateful you answered. Thank you!!

Okay! I looked at the tags — apparently, yes, my readers are clicking on the tags…but, my stats don’t say when. So, I’m still not getting an accurate daily reading. And I’m OCD, so this is going to drive me crazy.
But, thanks for bringing that to my attention!
All the best! -
Also note that “likes” are bragging stats only ie. they may make you feel good but they aren’t page view stats. In fact likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat. See here for what I do to compel readers to read posts on my site > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/07/09/wordpress-followers-likes-and-stats

This was incredibly helpful and I changed my “reader” setting as suggested – THANK YOU!
However, I am still a little confused about
“Note 2: re: unique visitor stats and page views
Since the publication of the post above WordPress.com has provided unique visitors stats as well as page view stats. The two main units of traffic measurement are views and unique visitors now.”(Granted, my confusion could very well be self-inflicted so I beg your pardon). What precisely does this mean, especially if “visitors” don’t necessarily “view” or actually “visit?”
