Why are my widgets not working?

    I have been trying to add a Follow/Subscription via Email widget on to my page. No matter what I do, they do not show up. The only option I have is to add it to ‘Sidebar’ – again, this doesn’t work. All I want is a widget on my HOME PAGE that allows my readers to subscribe.

    Please somebody help me, it’s driving me insane!

    It looks like you’re using the Boardwalk theme, which offers a different layout than traditional blog home pages. The “Sidebar” widget to which you’re referring is actually on the Home Page. If you click on the Hamburger icon (the square in the upper right corner with the lines), you see the menu and all the “sidebar” widgets that you have added.

    If you’d like your Email widget to show up in a more traditional sidebar, I’d suggest that you select a different theme. WordPress.com has so many from which to choose, you can likely find one that is similar in look to the Boardwalk theme but that also includes a sidebar.
