Why Are Our Posts Disappearing Off Of The Forums?

http://niecey456.wordpress.com/
That is a link to my blog. I post on a variety of different subjects, but mainly crime, most especially when it involves a child. We have had this problem before, but my recent posts and everyone else’s except for one person’s are disappearing from 2 forums. I use 10 tags, and I’ve even changed the date and time on 2 from yesterday and was only able to keep one up. It’s the Caylee Anthony forum and the Casey Anthony forum that are the problem. The person who’s posts are not disappearing are Moody Monica’s and she’s personally attacking another and has attacked many of us over time. I wonder what the problem is and could she have something to do with it?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have noticed now for several days the the “tags” don’t work. Post got all jumbled around to show the posted date all wrong. For example: A post shows it was posted 30 minutes ago and the next one is two days ago. Some seem to be missing as I posted one at http://johninflorida.wordpress.com/2009/06/11/what-goes-around-comes-around/ and it never showed where my blogs normally come up. Some blogs are actually four and five days old on the first page.
WordPress has something wrong on the order of how things get posted for sure. I have never seen it this bad before.

@niecey456, are the forums (blogs) hosted here on wordpress.COM? If not, then there is nothing wordpress or the volunteers here in the forums can do about it.
Could we have links to the forums please?

http://johninflorida.wordpress.com/2009/06/11/what-goes-around-comes-around/ returns a 404 file not found error, so that post does not exist. Are you sure that you “published” it?

Yes Sacred Path they are both wordpress.com
and John In Florida’s post he is referring to was on the forum this morning. -
I just deleted my blog abd created a new one. It worked fine this time but look below my blog and you can see the dates are all screwed up compared to how it normally is.
My new blog is at http://johninflorida.wordpress.com/2009/06/11/what-goes-around-comes-around/

This blog of mine http://johninflorida.wordpress.com/2009/06/06/midnight-memorial-madness/ disappeared off the first page of where I normally go which is here http://en.wordpress.com/tag/casey-anthony/
and now it came back, that has never happened before.

One suggestion (and this has been an issue in the past) is you really should not have duplicate entries in tags and categories (example: a tag Casey Anthony and a category Casey Anthony). Tags and categories are treated the same by wordpress for the global tags pages, and also by search engines. Having duplicates makes the search engines think you might be a spammer.
I see you have that post up now, and you are number one on the tags page for casey anthony: http://en.wordpress.com/tag/casey-anthony/

Okay, so should we tag it to the forums and maybe categorize it to crime, and what ever else it has to do with, but not that we use for a tag? I hope that made sense.
-
I never use more than 12 tags or categories total. Something went kabloey with the order of all the blogs not just ours. I saw it about two days ago when older, much older blogs started to appear before newer blogs. Nothing we are doing.
-
Look at the times/days on this page http://en.wordpress.com/tag/casey-anthony/
There are blogs out there with tags that should have gotten them to this page and they are missing. The blogs on here were old blogs and way off the page days ago. That is in the system we can’t control it.
-
John I’m not talking about the number of tags or categories, but having duplicates. That will cause issues with search engines, and as I said, I’ve seen it cause issues here. Tags and categories are treated the same by wordpress and the search engines. They actually do not see any difference in them at all. That is why it is important not to repeat names between them. Search engines look for that sort of thing and may discount your pagerank.
There is no need to have a casey anthony tag and a casey anthony category. It is duplication.
The tags pages have been messed up before, and they will likely be messed up again. I don’t know if it is due to updates or just a server glitch or what, but I can guarantee that you will see this sort of issue again and then it will go away just as mysteriously as it appeared.
-
OK, I’m seeing it now if I go to the second page in that tag.

I never do duplicates, never. I just deleted my blog over frustration and recreated a new one, that the first time I have ever done that. We are talking apples and oranges here. The problem we are addressing is that all the blogs went wrong in their order compared to how they have been for ever. And many of other people went missing all started two days ago.
-
So do we just not get views on our posts? This has been going on hard for 2 days. Everything you post disappears off of the forum. When it had been fine. Will it help to change the categories and tags now? Don’t get me wrong, I really appreciate your help and did not know about the tags and categories, but if what we post won’t stay then Why Post? This is happening to everyone, except for 1 blogger.

There is one on the first page listed 3 days ago and one on the second page listed as 1 day ago. That has never happened before.
-
niecey456, don’t change anything. It may have straightened it’s self out because my last blog came up ok. But where is cayleedaily’s blog?? It gets posted every day and is always up there
-
I know John, but It’s A Mystery To Me had one that stayed up all morning and it disappeared this afternoon. I had one last night that was gone this morning. It seems like they can stay for a bit.
I contacted support, and I’m not changing anything yet. I gave them all of the necessary links to mine
and to the forums. I can’t understand why Monica’s stay and everyone else’s disappears. Maybe just a fluke, but an odd one. I told support that Sacred Path said to contact them.
