Why are posts showing smooshed up against each other?

  My posts are disorganized on my home page, as in there is one posts that insists on showing just its title and wont move into its consecutive place on my post list home page. Instead, it just sits at the top smooshed against whatever post was freshly pressed. How can I fix this?
