Why are rogue adverts appearing on my blog?
-
There are adverts appearing on my blog page which shouldn’t be there – I can’t see them myself but friends have told me they can. Please could you remove them for me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To support the service (and keep free features free), we do sometimes run advertisements. We try hard to make the ads discreet and effective and only run them in limited places. If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, we offer the No-Ads Upgrade.

In addition to the “normal” ads that WordPress.COM runs to help pay for your “free” blog – there are several browser add ins that put ads on web sites – that can be done by the browser and not to site – if the ads are linked to words in the text I don’t think those are by WordPress.COM – all the ads by WordPress.COM should have a link “about these ads” that go to a WordPress.COM page that explains the ad policy or something
I have the no ads upgrade on the site linked to my name – my history site does not have the upgrade – but does have a disclaimer about the ads

If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then provided you see this small About These Ads link http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/ then what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising.
Please also note that it’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser. WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. If you are seeing those then see here: Bloggers: Beware of Adware. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/09/14/bloggers-beware-of-adware/
