Why are search terms not coming up?

Often I get referrals from Google but search terms won’t come up. Does this happen to anyone else?
It’s a little disappointing as I like reading the search terms people use to find my blog.

Happens to me routinely. I don’t even try to see what they’re looking for anymore. It’s under Search Terms.

Some search engines don’t reveal search terms for privacy reasons. That’s why we don’t always know which search terms were used by visitors who arrived at your site from a search engine. When we don’t know the search terms, we show them as “Unknown search terms”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#search-engine-terms
