Why are some of my widgets appearing below my blog instead of on the sidebar?

Half of my widgets are appearing on the left side of the blog as they’re supposed to, but the others are shown “below” my blog, not on the sidebar. I went into the dashboard and changed all to primary widget area1 on the sidebar. For some reason most of them were showing as being in primary widget area 2. I didn’t do put them there so I don’t know how this happened. Anyhow, changing them to Widget Area 1 did not help. A portion are showing there and a portion are shown below the blog.

In addition, there are arbitrary dark bold lines appearing in different areas of my blog, sometimes through the actual blog writing itself.

All of this started happening about a month ago and I have no explanation why. Every attempt I’ve made to change it has failed. I looked at the help section – Theme Layout Issues (Sidebar) and went to settings, writings, and html issues and made changes, but still stuck.

Please help me fix this and also tell me how this happened so I can prevent it in the future. This is the first time this has happened since I began the blog nearly 1 1/2 years ago.

BTW I love Word Press. Refer it to everyone I can!

  • You had an extra div tag in your giveaway widget which was causing all sorts of trouble.

I have removed that and it looks to be good now.
