Why are the images in my post not appearing when I want to share on Facebook?
-
For the last few posts I’ve shared on Facebook, only the thumbnail image of the WordPress logo appears and not the pictures I actually put in my blog. They are at least 200×200 pixels. I’m not understanding and I want to fix it immediately. You guys took more than 24 hours to respond to my last question and by then I’d already figured it out. But this one I can’t seem to fix on my own.

Unfortunately, the image that is chosen is entirely up to Facebook, and we have no control over it. They use a set of criteria that seems to be quite restrictive.
-
Well, the automatic posts have taken a thumbnail picture, but when I try to post manually, it doesn’t give me options and it seems to be all over the place. There must be something that makes the photos more likable to facebook. I have at least 2 photos per blog post. I was having no problems with thumbnails in facebook until my last blog post yesterday. I need a better answer.

OK, I’ve found if I simply post the link in Facebook, it gives me a choice of thumbnails. So I don’t think this is a Facebook problem. I think this is a WordPress problem.
-
It’s still a Facebook problem unfortunately. They just use a different set of criteria for each method.
Believe me, if there were a way for us to control it, we’d do it. My own blogs suffer from the same limitation on Facebook’s end.

I have one more question. How do I control what goes in my e-mail to people who subscribe to my blog. I want them to visit the page, not have it delivered on a silver platter. Is there a way to just show part of the post or write a summary?
-
Yes, if you go to Settings -> Reading in your blog’s Dashboard, you can select “Summary” at “For each article in a feed, show.”
This will only deliver the first few lines of your posts.
