why are the images on my home page repeating

    Even though there are multiple posts being displayed on my site’s home page, only one of the thumbnails is being applied, across all of the showcased posts.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there!

    I checked your homepage template and found the issue! It appears you inserted that image directly into the template by replacing the ‘featured image’ block. As a result, instead of showing the featured images you added to those posts, the same image is displayed repeatedly.

    To fix this, please do the following:

    1. Open the Site Editor (Click My Site → Appearance → Editor).
    2. When the editor loads, click on the right side to enter the editing mode.
    3. Click the List View icon at the top left.
    4. Click on one of the images (that are repeating) a few times until the List View shows that you have the image selected within the Query Loop. Refer to the screenshot below.
    5. Click the three dots next to the Image block and click Add Before. It will insert a Paragraph block before the image.
    6. Click the plus icon or type / and write “Featured image” (without the quotes). Press enter to insert the Featured Image block.
    7. From the left view on the left, click to choose the Image block and press the delete key on your keyboard to delete the Image block. This will delete the image that’s repeating.
    8. Click Save at the top right.

    Once all that’s done, your homepage will display the featured images before the respective posts. You can edit further to resize the Featured Image block on the Editor. I recommend spending a few minutes checking out this guide as well:
