Why Are There Links To Ads When I've Paid For A No-Ad Upgrade?

  • Unknown's avatar

Howdy. I just made a blog post and several words I typed show up as links when clicked lead to advertisers. I’ve paid for an upgrade that is supposed to exclude advertising, and I don’t like this one little bit. I will not hustle my readers. I’m not hustling WordPress by using your services for free, please help me understand why I’m being hustled by advertisers.

  • Hi,

Thanks for contacting us. I’ll be happy to take a look regarding your text in this post:

There are several words, such as “complete” and “in one direction” that have links to advertisers.

It appears that your browser might be inserting links automatically, as I’m not seeing any links for those words. I’ve taken a screenshot using Google Chrome 22.0.1229.94 to demonstrate that we aren’t adding those links.

You can also edit the post, then switch to the Text editor to confirm that the links aren’t being inserted there.

I see that you’re using Mozilla Firefox, so can you try viewing your blog in Safe Mode?

If you get the same result, can you also try viewing your blog using Google Chrome?
