I wanting to move my website from being self-hosted to wordpress.com and use the theme I am currently using witch is from wordpress.org, but I noticed that it is not showing up on wordpress.com witch I have searched by the name of the theme, another and it is not showing up, why is that? So why offer over a 1,000 themes to choose from on wordpress.org that are free, but be very limited on wordpress.com?

    Hi there,

Themes available at WordPress.com have to go through a much stricter code audit than dotorg themes before they can be accepted.

There are several reasons for this – security, usability, performance, data portability, compatibility with Jetpack’s features etc
