  I have a free WordPress site. Titles of articles are not showing before the blog name and tagline in google searches? Only the blog name and tagline are showing in the headings. I searched for a solution on the Internet and it was suggested to go to the ‘Editor’ in ‘Appearance’ on the Dashboard and change the Header.php. However, there is no ‘Editor’ in the ‘Appearance’ and I could not attempt that solution. The importance of titles of articles appearing before the blog names and taglines in the engine searches is self-evident. How can this problem be solved?

  Hi there,

  you got it right, editing header.php would allow you to do what you’re after, but this feature is not supported on WordPress.com, mainly due to security reasons.

  The solution would be to go for self-hosted site, which is however more complicated to set up than simple blog on WordPress.com.

  Thank you for the information. Then the question is why does the WordPress does not fix this problem? I am sure it can do that easily.
