Why are you capping the amount of followers we can have?
-
I knew someone was missing from my feed but I hadn’t figured out who it was yet. No I didn’t unfollow them. 20 hours ago from 5:24, I think I was writing a blog. I can’t unfollow and write at the same time. I’m good. But not that good.
-
Thanks for following up!
I’m going to make a reminder for myself to check your subscription logs again for the next few days and I’ll follow up here with details about the next unsubscription I see. This way we can tell if this always happens while you’re writing a post, or maybe some other link.

Hi, I noticed a blog was unfollowing without my active intervention.
I followed it again last night on the “stats” page.
And I just rechecked it, and it’s unfollowed now.
I have been careful not to unfollow it anywhere. I don’t believe I visited the blog at all today, and don’t subscribe to it by email.
-
I just followed, and it unfollowed again.
I refershed the page, and followed again.
I didn’t click anything to unfollow it.

@kavalkade12 – It sounds like you’re running across the same issue that butchcountry67 was having. I don’t see any subscription or unsubscription logs for that site on your account. Are you signing up via the popover window? Or the “Follow on WordPress.com” button?
-
Right on the new stats screen, there’s a “follow” button there now.
My Sites > Stats > Followers View All

I have all email notifications off for all blogs btw, so no unsubscribing accidentally via email.
-
@kavalkade12 – I believe you may be running into a separate issue regarding Jetpack. We’ve actually never subscribed your account to follow dailyinspirationblog.com.
I’ll do some testing based on the screenshots you linked to. I believe we shouldn’t be showing a Follow button there at all.
In the meantime, you can follow the site by using the WordPress.com follow button on the site:
-
@shawnajroberts ~ To my knowledge I don’t have jetpack installed.
I don’t know about how the button came into being, I just know it wasn’t there on the old stats page and it showed up after the new one came into use.
I have been using that screen to follow back people that have followed me. Do you see me subscribing to anyone at all from there?
-
Sorry for being unclear. The site dailyinspirationblog.com is not hosted here on WordPress.com. They’re the one using Jetpack. Jetpack sites don’t show up in the Reader the same way WordPress.com sites do. So, either that follow button is broken or it’s not supposed to be there. That’s what I’m testing.
I can’t see what page you’re subscribing from. But I can see when subscribes and unsubscribes happen.
For the most part, any site you follow from that list will work fine.

That follow button shows up on all of the people that follow us, whether they are followable via that button or not. Mines looks the same way. I have tried to follow people, off wordpress, from that button and it just takes me to their page where I get their URL and copy and paste it into the reader URL box.
-
Thanks for those details thedailyblabber! I will admit, I don’t follow many Jetpack sites or look at my stats very often, so I’m not 100% familiar with those links. Your explanation really helps my testing. :)
