Why are you having such difficulty keeping the Facebook count right

Guys listen. I’ve told you before and will gladly tell you again what a great job you’re doing, all of you. And I’m very grateful. But this is not that. I cannot tell you the number of times over the last couple of years that I’ve noticed discrepancies, then huge disparity between the fb count displayed at the bottom of my posts – and the actual count on my stats page as well as the count on Facebook itself for the same single post. Now it is has gotten so bad that counts of hundreds or more have reduced down to a single digits or low double digits. This is on probably half of my 40 posts. This is downright embarrassing that a company as high speed and high tech as your self would be so unaware, and that it would reach such proportions before something is done about it. Please straighten it out. Much thanks.

Hi there,
I’m sorry for the trouble with the Facebook sharing counts on your posts. We are aware of the issue, but so far we haven’t hit on the right fix for everyone who’s running into trouble with it.
However, I just checked a number of posts on your site at https://fullgrownministry.wordpress.com/ and I’m seeing sharing counts in the hundreds and even thousands for your posts there. Are there particular posts you’re still seeing this problem on?
It’ll help our team if I can point them to specific posts where the count is way off and other posts where it’s accurate — that might help us pinpoint what’s going wrong.

My goodness, you sure can tell when you’re dealing with a bureaucracy. They only hear part of what’s said, apply minimal effort on one part or the wrong part, and speak as though they have done something. Rachel I do appreciate the little that you did for the minute that it took, but you’re gonna have to go deeper than that and actually follow my clear description initially ^^. Here’s a handful for you by name, you’re gonna have to look for the others: Hero, Spirit Led, Little Child, Orient, Identity and Departure were at 6 or 7 hundred plus on the count and have been magically reduced to numbers in the teens or twenties. Two have been zeroed out completely on the count.
Posts that are at the same accurate count displayed the whole time are – The New World, Rapture, and No Anxious Thought. I do understand your desire for me to do the troubleshooting for a problem on your end, but if I could solve it I wouldn’t need to contact you. If it were on my equipment and happened on my watch then I should do something about it. Since the equipment and the watch are both yours, perhaps you guys can do something about it. Instead of acting like asking me questions is going to solve your problem. My suspicion is that it’s malware riding in on the back of a recoded link click from Facebook, but I don’t know. What we both know is that it’s affecting your machinery along with the accurate and dependable running of it. I’m sure that if someone actually looks for the problem they will find it. I’m sorry for making you feel I was pushing the issue back onto you. I This issue has come up on other sites and I’ve reported it to our developers before, which is why I mentioned earlier that we’re aware of the issue. However, so far in looking at the other sites that reported a similar issue, we haven’t been able to resolve it for everyone yet.
Thanks for giving me the titles of some of the posts where you’re seeing this issue — that’s exactly the sort of information that will help our developers continue to investigate what’s going wrong so we can hopefully get this fixed up for you and others who are running into this problem. I’ll let you know as soon as I have an update from them about it.

Thank you for being so considerate Rachel, and for your kind attention to something odd that should not be happening to either of us. Also for understanding the frustration stemming from the foolishness done by others to both our good efforts, who are bent on disruption if not destruction. For there is someone behind this, all of the code in existence was written by men. My apologies if it seems that I am blaming you, I assure you I am not.
My request is that the men behind the curtain restore my count, which they can do. If they will to do it. That is my only concern. Just as the greater concern for you guys is why or how it happened. Our concerns are mutual and related, but they are not the same. Someone must speak for mine. Since like yourselves I could get paid for what I am doing for free, but choose to give it away so those it is meant to help will have access to it, and get the help they need.
My suggestion is that whoever troubleshoots my account when accessing my stats page simply click on the summaries link for the top posts count, where they can then access the total count for all posts by clicking the all time button, which brings up the actual uncorrupted numbers. Since 90 to 95 % of the views on all of my posts have been accessed by or shared on Facebook, we have a valid baseline from which to draw a number and effect a repair. The percentage can of course be verified by accessing the line by line action with corresponding time date stamp, should anybody wish to do that. But why go through all that trouble when anyone who needs convincing need simply follow the first few steps provided above to see the quick and easy fix.
We are talking about a repair here to damage done by some sort of hostile overwriting by an as yet unseen third party or element. Which will no doubt in time be uncovered by the close inspection of your diligent efforts. The right number on this small button has far greater relevance to my good content than to your good machinery. But I think telling the truth and maintaining accuracy while stamping out all invasive corruption, has equal value to all of us.
Those corrupting the good work we are doing together are doing it out of their pride. If the men repairing the damage are proud, they will be offended at the good of what I have freely offered. If they are humble they will see the truth and the right of it, and be glad about it. Since the humble know that all of us need all the help we can get, it is my hope that they are humble. For pride in the hearts of men is the greatest corrupting influence on earth. Whereas the humble always get the grace. And when we realize that grace is the help that comes from the One who made us all and every good thing that has been made through us, we will want all the grace we can get. Fill me with your grace Lord, and make me a gracious man.
