Why aren't followers getting email notifications?

  Many of our followers do not have wordpress.com accounts, and follow our updates via email notifications. For some reason, they are not receiving email notifications. They’ve confirmed by clicking on the link in the confirmation notice. What else can they do to receive updates by email?
