Why aren't my paragraph blocks aligning?

    Hi!

I’ve made a very simple page for a website I’m doing for a friend: just a list of her professional publications.

For some reason they are aligned to the left (correctly) in the “working” document, but not when I go to “preview” or “visit page.” What is see there is the first set (a series of paragraph blocks listing current pubs) is further left, and the remainder (a series of paragraph blocks listing forthcoming) is indented.

Every piece of text is a paragraph block aligned to the left. The only difference is that some are bolder and larger. I didn’t make any attempt to create columns. (Yes, it’s boring!)

I’ve saved a screenshot of the working one and the final in my media files. (For some reason the screenshot of the working one has lots of white space in the “real” screenshot but not in the media file. although I don’t think that matters here.)

Any help would be immensely appreciated!

FYI, this page is currently set as “private.”

Further, when I try moving blocks around it behaves as if all the “current publication” pieces are inside one first section, and the forthcoming ones are in a separate second section. I can move blocks around inside their own section, but not from one to the other. I haven’t used the “group” function at all.

I guess I can copy and paste all the second section blocks into the first section, but maybe there’s an easier way?

  • Hi there,

This is happening because all the blocks from the beginning till the Manuscripts Under Review section are grouped together.

To ungroup them, first select the group by clicking on the Block Navigation button at the top.

This will highlight the group of blocks and then you can click on the three dots and select the Ungroup option.
