why aren’t my posts posting to my blog page. I have my ‘home’ page set to show my recent posts and my posts show up fine there, but none of my posts are posting to my actual blog page.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there. I don’t see a blog page on your site.

All your posts display in your main feed, and by default that feed appears on your home page. You can set a static page as your home page, and have your feed display on a separate blog page, but I don’t know of a way to have your main feed display on your home page and a separate blog page (nor can I think why it would be necessary – why do you want the exact same content on two different places on your site?).

If you want an index of your posts to display on a separate page, you can create a regular page and put the Archive Shortcode on it to display a list of your posts by title: https://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/

You can also have posts of a specific category display on their own page by creating category pages. See these links for more information:

Let me know if you need any more help with this.

Thanks for the help. I had a static home page before and that is when my post were not posting to my blog page. I switch it to how it is now, with the main feed as my home page, because that is the only way i could get my posts to appear. I could switch it back if that helps you figure out what might be wrong.

    Thanks!

I do not see a blog page on your site either.

You have two choices on any blog
    (1) All posts on the front page.
    (2) A static front page and posts on a different page.

By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors.

However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
    A static page (select below)
    Front page:
    Posts page:

Ah! That did it. I kept going to Appearance>Customize, where you can also change the home page from a feed to static , but while it would change the home page, none of my post were showing up on my blog page. Must be a glitch in the programming. Now i know to use Setting>Reading if i want to change it. Thanks!
