Why aren't my posts showing up in WordPress.com Search?
-
Dear WordPress,
My posts don’t seem to be showing up in the search results for WordPress.com search.
My posts do quite well in search results for Google, Bing and other search engines. The blog is popular.
However, for some reason, they are not showing up at all in WordPress search. This is not good.
I have checked all of my settings and have determined that this is beyond my control. Can you help me on this?

What actual search terms am I using?
Well, the URL for the blog to start off with.
It shows up in those who have linked to me, but my blog is absent.
Also, any post, the name of the blog, tags,–in short, anything from the blog itself. The blog’s posts do quite well in Google and Bing search results. The blog doesn’t appear to be in WordPress Search for some reason.

WordPress.com search does not search URLs. It does not search tags. It searches only contents of posts.
-
Okay.
There is no content of my blog in the search engine.
Posts that are reblogged on other blogs from my content shows up. My original content doesn’t show up. Even links to my content from old blogs no longer running show up in the search results.
Not even once does the blog’s content show up in the WP Search results.

Oh, that’s easy. On your latest post I note:

You are tag spamming. Both WordPress.com and search engines will have classified you as a spammer, because you are using far too many tags, so you are excluded from the tag pages and downgraded in all searches, including Google. Reduce the number of tags/categories to an aggregate of no more than 15 on any given post.
-
Thanks for the help.
But no, that is not tag spamming.
And no, my posts have not been downgraded in any Google searches. My posts place quite high in Google and Bing both. Not as high as when I had a PR of 5 or 6 (my old blog). But quite a lot of times on the first page. I’ve been involved in SEO for quite some time. it’s not a case of a downgrade. It’s a case of the content not being indexed by WordPress. I just want to find out why? and have them start indexing it.
The only trouble I have is on WP Search. And the content is not downgraded, it simply is not in their search engine. Not one post, not one reference. I have another WP blog (an older one) and posts show up just fine in WP Search.
I think my question needs to change to: How do I notify WordPress that it is not indexing my content?
Again, thank you very much for your help.

You tried that, and another volunteer AND a staffer both told you that you are tag spamming. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-notify-wordpress-that-wordpress-search-is-not-indexing-my-content?replies=7#post-1859392
If you have been involved in SEO for some time, it’s time you upgraded your learning, because the post is a classic, textbook example of what not to do. No wonder your pagerank has decreased.
-
Thanks for your reply.
Where did you get the idea that my PR decreased?
I said that my old sites had PRs of 5. This is another, new site.
I have started reducing the number of tags on my last several posts.
We will see if it makes any difference of being indexed in WP Search. I will continue to do so for the next several weeks.
The problem is that the site IS NOT indexed. There is no mention of the site. I really do appreciate the help. It doesn’t matter if there’s 100 tags or 0 tags: if the site isn’t indexed, it doesn’t matter.
If you don’t know who to contact about indexing or where to send the inquiry, that’s okay.
Again, thanks for your input.

Your site is not indexed because you are a tag spammer – simple

Thanks for your input.
My posts appear every single day in the reader/topic search.
Always have.
I am talking about WP Search located here:
http://en.search.wordpress.com/
It is a newer search on WP.
I’ll upgrade to premium and ask a support staff.
Once again, thanks to all for your input.
