Why aren't my posts showing up under "recent" or "sticking"?

  I am using the Oxygen theme. Sometimes, like today, my posts don’t show up under “recent articles” immediately after posting them, nor are they “sticky” like they’re supposed to be. I have tried viewing my page on numerous browsers, even deleting the whole post and starting over in a new browser. It seems to be a glitch with WordPress as I haven’t done anything differently to post this time than others. I can link to the post and find it in my archives, but it isn’t showing up on my home page. What gives?

  P.S. I’m referring to this post: http://districtdinners.wordpress.com/2012/12/26/creamy-tomato-cheese-tortellini-soup/ Which, you’ll see, show’s up under my “recent posts” widget on the left sidebar but not under “recent articles” or sticky like it’s supposed to.

  I figured it out — my photo was just shy of 750 pixels wide so it wouldn’t show up in the “sticky” post slider, and since it was supposed to be there (i.e. since the box was checked to make it sticky) it also didn’t show up under “recent articles,” as the sticky function overrides it. Does that make sense?

  Yes it does. Featured images dimensions are critical.
