Why aren't my share buttons showing on home page, but only on individual posts?

  I’m setting up a new blog using the free 2012 theme and have enabled several social media share buttons. However, they don’t appear on the posts on my blog’s home page:
  http://carmelatest.wordpress.com/ .

  They do show up if I click on a specific post, like this one:
  http://carmelatest.wordpress.com/2014/06/28/testsharebuttons/

  I’ve noticed this seems to also be the case with several other sites I found that use the 2012 theme:
  http://fautrever.com/
  http://petescully.com/

  Is there any way to have the social media buttons show up on the home page? I’ve used other themes in the past that did show the social media buttons in both places–on the home page and when you clicked on the specific post.

  Go to Settings ->Sharing. If you scroll down to below where you add the buttons you’ll see the heading “Show buttons on”. The first option next to that is to show buttons on your front page, archive pages and search results. Check that and save changes.
