Why Aren't My Stats Working?

Why aren’t my stats working? I’ve had a few “likes” on my posts, however, it’s showing that no one has visited my site.

First off, nice blog. :)
Stats are usually delayed by a few minutes. Give it some time, and it should be updated.

@justmylifeblog: …the new WordPress Reader service makes it possible for people to read your posts, Reblog your posts, Like your posts and Follow your blog without ever visiting your blog.
If you haven’t done so already you should change your settings to only show a partial feed:
Dashboard > Settings > Reading > For each article in a feed, show > Summary x

Thanks @feartheseeds. I’ll try that and see if that helps. I didn’t know about the new Reader service. That’s good to know. Doesn’t make sense that someone who reads your blog doesn’t become a part of your stats. Such is life and hopefully it will change in the future. :)

People can “like” a Post without visiting your site – it is some sort of feature never paid much attention to it
@tennisfilmproduction – you are wrong again – stats for visits are immediate – no delay – the only only delay you see is if you don’t refresh your screen – WordPress.COM does not push stats updates out you need to request a page refresh

For two days my home page box won’t show stats in the box, freshly pressed or anything.
Is that due to the reader service? -

How are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.Exactly which browser and version of it are you using? If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
Have you tried using the browser with all extensions or add-ons including AdBlock disabled?
Please try then logging in directly to your blog using the secure https:// log-in see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

My stats appear to be working now. Thank you for hopping on the site to get them started. It appears that the majority of “likes” were directly from Twitter through the Reader and didn’t count on my stats. Since changing the Reading settings to “Summary,” it may have provoked those who want to read the blog to connect to the website and actually be counted. I appreciate all of the help with this! It’s good to know y’all are out there. :)
Have a great weekend!

Your blog followers is the sum of the following:
- WordPress.com blog followers
- Any followers from connected Publicize services (Facebook, Twitter, Messenger Connect, Yahoo!, or LinkedIn), which you can check in Settings -> Sharing
As I feartheseeds and auxclass aid above a follower ie anyone with a WordPress.com username account can click the “like” button without visiting your blog and creating a page view stat.
- A follower can click the “like” button when viewing your posts in the Readomatic reader on the home page of WordPress.com
A follower can click the “like” button when viewing your posts on the Topics pages. - A follower can click the “like” button when viewing your posts when using an app.
- An email subscriber can click the “like” button in the email they receive of your new posts without visiting your blog.
P.S. To compel readers to click into my blog to read the full post I have set my RSS Feed to “summary” on this page > Settings > Reading too like feartheseeds suggested. It also discourages RSS feed sucking content thieves from splogging my content.

Thanks for these suggestions, timethief. I will make that change to the RSS feed. Pretty new to WordPress so all those tips help.
I am having a slightly different problem that relates to something you mention. My “followers” stats are not updating my twitter or facebook people. In fact, my twitter/fb followers have more than doubled but no updates on my stats.
I have separate twitter/fb accounts specifically for my blog (separate from my personal ones) so I’d really like those numbers to show :)
The blog in question is http://emiliajordan.com – btw, since I’m really new like I said, there are only two posts so far!
Thanks,

Oh and additionally, with my second blog post publicize didn’t happen. I eventually put it on my own twitter and fb, but wordpress never did. Is something going on with publicize/stats?
Thanks again!
EJ
