Why aren't posts e-mailed to members of the blog?
-
I thought that blog posts are e-mailed to members of the blog. I recently set up this blog. At first it seemed like members were getting an e-mail notification of the post, but that isn’t happening now.
What I want is for everybody who is a member of our private blog (almost all are contributors) to get the post in their e-mail. Or at least get notified of the post. I’ve spent too much time searching help topics…can’t spend any more time on this.

Hi Sue,
In order for users to receive a notification of a new blog post, they have to subscribe to the blog.
Since you have a private blog, it sounds like all of the visitors to your site already have WordPress.com accounts. In this case, when logged into their accounts and on your site, they can simply click on the Follow button that appears in their Admin Bar (the gray bar at the top of the page) to subscribe to the blog.
They can modify their subscription settings by going to their Blogs I Follow page (http://wordpress.com/#!/following/) and clicking on “Manage Delivery Settings” at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
