Why aren't subscribers getting email notifications?

  Hello,
  For some reason (that I can’t figure out) it seems that blog followers who subscribe to email notifications have not received all email notifications that a blog post has been published (see: http://messyjesusbusiness.wordpress.com/2013/05/23/incarnation-salvation-wow/).

  Not sure what caused this change, nor how to fix it.

  This has greatly decreased our traffic.
  What do you suggest?

  Eaxctly which followers did not receive the post?
  If they are WordPress.com members what are their usernames please?
  If they are not WordPress.com members then what are their email addresses please?

  Note that the software will redact the email addresses so we cannot see them but Staff can see them.

  Yeah, I am not completely comfortable listing the email addresses and wordpress names of all my subscribers.
  I know for sure that (email visible only to moderators and staff) didn’t receive an email, and all the other subscribers that I know personally said they didn’t receive it when I was able to ask them. (I have 88 email subscribers). I am not sure about my 106 wordpress followers and whether they received a notification or not.

  By decreased traffic, I mean that on the day that most recent post was made (the post that I put the link out there for) we only received 20 views- most new post days we receive at least 50 views!

  Any guess how long it may take to get an answer and get this issue resolved? I am getting ready to post again soon, and really don’t want to have same issue again….

  Followers can adjust their own notification settings at http://wordpress.com/#!/read/edit/ and delivery settings at https://wordpress.com/?ssl=forced#!/settings/subs-delivery/ . Here they can enable or disable any notification e-mails on new blog posts. Could you please check with the ‘jpick’ user to see what his notification settings are?

  Thanks, but I am certain that there’s no difference on the users’ end. It really seems to be a post-by-post problem for all users of late. I posted again yesterday and it seems to have worked properly- the stats really reveal a difference… Yesterday we went from 12 visitors/18 views to 102 visitors/121 views. Yes, part of that is due to high social media referrals yesterday, but the emails also worked yesterday. The emails apparently did not work on May 23 or Apr 16, however. On those days it seems that only admins of the blog got emails. So, there’s a confusing inconsistency…..

  We didn’t have any outstanding issues on the dates you mentioned, so I can’t tell for sure if that caused it. There are more reasons why certain views are not reflected in your stats. You can read more about this at http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats .

  If you encounter this issue again, please let us know as soon as possible so we we’re able to investigate what’s wrong.
