  • Unknown's avatar

I try to bring new articles and photos to my blog”Lyrikphotosfinland.wordpress.com”. But though I do everything like earlier it will not appear in the sideboard. That also refers to all my other blogs.

Why can I not bring new articles and photos to my sideboard?

    Hi there,

I took a look at your blog, and it looks like the “Links” widget is actually filling up your sidebar. It is loading as many links as it can, however it appears to be unable to grab all 100 or so links which you have created.

The Links page is not intended to link to each of your posts and pages within your blog. Instead it is intended as a place for you to create a few links to external sites. If you are looking to create a Table of Contents type page for your blog, you might want to look at “archives” shortcode which we’ve created. You can read all about it right here:

    Hi,
thanks, that you had a look. On that page http://lyrikphotosfinland.wordpress.com/ I do not have a single link.

When I took the witch for LINKS totally away, the whole sideboard disappeared. So I put it back, but wrote “0” links. Nevertheless I cannot bring any new articles or pictures to the sideboard. The picture “Schmetterlinge” as an example for several others, does not appear under “Tiere”. Instead of that it is under blogging.

sorry, I meant “blogroll”. How do I get this away? Instead it should belong to “Tiere”.

  • Unknown's avatar

I never intended to link to all the articles. It just happens. To take the link witch away is ending in no sideboard at all. And if I choose one of the articles, I get a sideboard with only that one header. I simply do not know what to do.-

These topics come automatically under links, when I saved a topic under its own category. I cannot prevent that. It is the same in all my sites I have with wordpress. What do I do wrongly?

  • Unknown's avatar

You can certainly feel free to add links to your Links page, that is what it is there for! It was just having problems with how many links were being added to it in that case.

  • Unknown's avatar

Now, as a consequence to your advice, it is impossible to bring any category, article or photo to my sideboard.

  • Unknown's avatar

How are you trying to link to your photos, articles, or categories? I see that in your links section within your Dashboard you have removed all of the links which I mentioned except the Blogroll and a Contact link, both of which are showing on your sidebar correctly. If you would like to add additional links, you can in this section.

  • Unknown's avatar

Exactly that is not possible. I have now tried to link other articles, fotos under a category without any success. Nothing works anymore!

  • Unknown's avatar

Those like contact, etc were never removed. Therefore they are still in a sidebar, New items do not appear in the sidebar.

  • Unknown's avatar

Oh, OK! Now I understand what you’re saying!

I went ahead and created a quick test link for your site. I took a screen capture of all of the settings which I used and have included it right here:

    http://note.io/19xNfyg

With those settings, the link appeared on your sidebar just fine. All you would need to do is switch out the link name for one which you like and where it points to for one of your articles or photos. It appears to be working fine.

  • Unknown's avatar

If it’s still not working for you, could you let me know what errors you are getting so that I can try and figure out what exactly is going wrong on your end?

    Thanks!

I give up. I tried now endlessly often to bring my photos under the subject “Mein Leben in Finnland”. I did it the same way as with the category “Interview mit dem Leben”. That worked, the other category not. This is not logically.

Here’s another screenshot I took, this time I created a link to a photograph which you’ve uploaded. I grabbed the image link by going to Dashboard >> Media Library. You can click on any image and on the right of the screen is the URL for that image.

Here is what it looks like, creating that Link:

Again, if you can let me know what issues you run in to when trying to create these links I’ll be happy to look in to the problem for you!

What you recommend is beyond my understanding. Maybe it is the language, but more probably it is my little computer knowledge.
When I earlier saved my items, I went to Dashboard, Articles (Beiträge), clicked on that one I wanted to be on the sidebar, then comes a box, where I wrote the category and then save. That was all, what I needed to do. It was simpel for me. If I do that now, nothing comes.
For example that category “Foros aus Finnland”, which you brought to the sidebar, is “Meine Welt in Finnland”. It is only a new category name. But I cannot open it for the sidebar. Others do not appear at all.
I tried for days and again today for hours. I cannot do it.
