Why can I not change my display name, and edit a post/topic?
-
Hi,
I was told three years ago by <a href=”https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-can-i-edit-my-topic-i-have-just-post?replies=5#post-869812
“>thesacredpath
“You cannot edit or delete topics you create here at wordpress.com. That privilege was taken away because it was abused.
Just reply to the post and make any corrections you need to in the reply.”However, my questions are:
1- if I’d need to re-post the entire post again with the corrections, then it would be redundant which will let the topic be full of posts.
2- I think this username shown within any topic of mine in the medium left-hand corner at the WordPress.com forums is my username for my WordPress.com website. However, the username shown as a cooperator in the top-right hand corner is for my WordPress.com forums. So, why is the username of my WordPress.com website is shown in the forums, and how to change it into to the username shown in the upper-right hand corner(a cooperator)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
1. Why do you want to repost an entire post? Just add a reply correcting the one sentence where you made the mistake.
2. The name that shows next to your Gravatar image each time you post is your account username and is visible to everyone in the forums. The name that appears at the top is your display name as set in your account settings and only you can see that. If you log out of your account and view this page you won’t see any name displayed there.
As there is not actually any support question in this thread, I’ll be closing it now.
