Why can't a use italics when commenting on a post?

  Click ‘reply’ to a post, try to insert italics. No can do. Doesn’t the visual editor work for comments?

  Hi,

  There’s no visual editor for comments, comments are in plain text. You can, however, use basic HTML in most cases. You would use the <em> tag for italics, and the <strong> tag for bold.

  For example –

  <strong>This text is bold</strong> and <em>this text is italicized.</em> = This text is bold and this text is italicized.
