Why can't access any part of my website.
-
This morning I installed a new widget on my website, from NetworkedBlogs to tie in my blog to my Facebook page. I then copied 7 posts and republished them. Everything worked fine for a few hours, but now I cannot load any pages or my blog, and can’t even access my dashboard.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This morning I managed to get to my dashboard and deleted the NetworkedBlogs widget.
Everything seemed okay for a while but then the problem started again. The fault seems to be intermittent. A page can load instantly or takes ages.
Sometimes I cannot even get on to the website.
Apart from linking the blog to my Facebook page via NetworkedBlogs, I have changed nothing, and have not had this problem before in the two years that my site has been running with WordPress. -
Hi Michael,
I have gone to your site a few times and haven’t been able to replicate any issues with it loading (which is of course always the problem with anything which is intermittent).
I would recommend you clearing your browser’s cache to make sure that there is nothing sticking behind which might be causing the slow loading on that end. You can read about how to do so right here:
You can also try loading your site in another browser to see if it ever loads slowly or gives errors there. Let me know if it keeps giving you troubles!

I cleared the cache but this didn’t solve the problem. Sometimes the page load is almost instant, and some times takes ages. I just tested loading the home page and it took 30 seconds.
I have had this website for 2 years now, and have never had any problems.
I have noticed that this also affects some other WordPress pages.
Took a while to load the forums, and also the support page. Could this have anything to do with linking to NetworkedBlogs and Facebook?
I have tried loading on IE and also Safari (on my ipad). Same thing.
I have no problems with any other websites. -
No, I don’t think this particular aspect of the issue is related to having connected the NetworkedBlogs to Facebook.
Instead it sounds like there may be some problems with your ISP not routing to WordPress.com very well. Do you happen to have access to another ISP (at work or via a mobile device, etc) which you could test to see if that is the case? Also, what ISP are you using and where are you located?
Thanks!

We are in the Costa Blanca in the South of Spain.
Our ISP is Movistar, but we also subscribe to Overplay’s Smart DNS service.
I have contacted then asking them how to turn it off so I can test to see if this is the problem.
The main thing is that the problem is only with us, and that people can get to our website without problems as we are just about to launch a new book and traffic is very important at the moment. -
Ah! I am familiar with Costa Blanca, though I didn’t get a chance to visit. I just lived for about 2 months in Barcelona and would happily move there permanently.
It does seem that the problem is only with you currently. I have connected from a variety of sources throughout the world and haven’t been able to replicate it loading slowly.
I did notice one thing, your Facebook like box was just displaying a plain white box. I went in to your widgets and reset it to the default settings (to display the icons of your followers), however if you’d like to remove it you can certainly do so by going in your Dashboard to Appearance >> Widgets.
Otherwise it does appear that your site is loading fine.

I have contacted Overplay and hope the fault lies with them.
When I clicked on the reply button on your email it took about 20 seconds for the page to load. This usually happens almost instantly.
If you think of anything else it could be please let me know.
Best Regards,
Pam
ps. Today it reached almost 40 degrees – much too hot! You’re missing nothing.
