why can’t all my pages be categorized?

  For reasons of organization, I have my blog (where the river darkens, http://forgottenstair.wordpress.com/) organized into pages rather than posts (this allows me to arrange the sections like chapters in a book, and permits me to control their order). This all works fine except that I cannot add categories to any of the pages except the first one (perhaps because it is actually a post — whereas all the subsequent ones are pages?). Is there any way to add categories to the rest of my pages? Thank you, BJ Omanson

  pages cannot be tagged or categorized at wordpress.com. only posts.
