Why can't I access my blog?

I own the blog http://www.truegrahamkent.wordpress.com. For some reason, WordPress seems to suggest that I no longer do, except I can’t think of anything I’ve done to make this happen.

When I log into my account, I no longer have access to the dashboard for the website. When I click on “my blogs”, it shows that I have none. When I try to load truegrahamkent.wordpress.com/wp-admin, I’m met with this:

“User truegrahamkent Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested

You are logged in as “truegrahamkent” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “True Graham Kent”. If you are not “truegrahamkent”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “truegrahamkent” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.”

Well, that user is me, and I’ve logged into my account properly. So why is this happening, and how can we fix it so that I can access and post to my blog again?

On April 9th it looks like the user truegrahamkent added a new user to the site and then made that user the new site owner.

Given that the new owner’s username is similar to truegrahamkent, could that have been you? If so, you might try logging in with the new username or email address, or try resetting your password here: https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

… okay, this is extremely odd.

Long story short, I had older blogs that were using the email I wanted to use for this blog. I deleted them and tried to transfer this blog to the email I wanted to use, which I thought had worked fine.

I’d been logging in as my username and things had been going fine until recently. Now, I just tried logging in with my email and it works. So, it’s good that I’m able to access my blog again, though I have no clue why it stopped working with my username… I made no changes that would have resulted in anything like this happening.

I’ll tinker with it a bit more, but so far this seems unnecessarily complicated. One username, one email, one blog. That’s all I want.

In any case, like I say, at least I can access it. Thank you.

It looks like you were able to log in under the new username.

When you were trying to change up emails and so forth, rather than just update the email address for truegrahamkent, what you managed to do (successfully!) was remove truegrahamkent as the owner (and as a user) for your blog truegrahamkent.wordpress.com, and made the new owner grahamkent. Each of these usernames is considered a separate account and must have a unique email address associated with it.

What you can do, if you’d like, is add truegrahamkent as an admin user to that site, so you will be able to log in under either email address/username.

I hope this makes sense! If you want to move your site back to truegrahamkent, please let me know.
