Why can't I access my blog from my MacBook when I can from other machines?

    Since Sunday, I have had problems with my blog on my MacBook.

    It takes ages to load my blog page (3 minutes+) and when the front page finally loads, I cannot log in to access My dashboard, stats, create a new post etc.

    I click on ‘log in’ as usual, and it takes ages to do anything, then it looks like it has hung the webpage and then eventually I get the following error message:

    Safari can’t open the page ” https://lynnepusscat.wordpress.com/wp-login.php” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “lynnepusscat.wordpress.com”

    This is only on my MacBook. it works fine on my husband’s iPad and on friends’ macs and PCs, so it looks like the issue is confined to my MacBook.

    Hi Lynne,

    So it looks like there might be something with your browser or setup. Can you try clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below?

    Solve Common Browser Issues

    If that doesn’t work, try loading your site on a different browser like Firefox or Chrome. Please make sure the browsers are updated to the most recent version:

    Hi again
    We just tried that, and unfortunately made no difference. BUT I am running Parallels on my Mac so I tried logging in to my blog via Internet Explorer. and bingo! I’m in! Thank you.
    So as far as I can tell it’s not a problem with my Mac, or with WordPress, it’s a problem specific to accessing my blog via Safari on my Mac, which has developed since Sunday (bizarre as I nothing has changed between my last blog post and realising there was a problem). Does this sound about right?
    I’m taking the machine into Apple tomorrow to see what they can do…

    Just a quick update, in case anyone else has this issue.
    We upgraded to Yosemite on my MacBook and the problem is now fixed…
