Why can’t I add a “background” on Lodestar?

I have the Business Plan for this website, but I cannot change the background. I am using the Lodestar theme. Notice that there is no option to change the background image.

But on this older WP webpage, I have the option to add a “Background Image.” This webpage is using the Lodestar Theme.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

You’re absolutely right that in earlier versions of the Lodestar theme, the Background Image option appeared as a separate section in the Customizer. However, in the latest version of the theme, this has been updated.

Now, the background image setting is found under Appearance > Customize > Colors & Backgrounds.

Once you’re there, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the empty space in the color preview area (as shown in the screenshot).

    2. A new panel will appear where you can upload or select your background image. (as shown in the screenshot).

      3. Once the image is added, you’ll also see options to adjust its position, repeat settings, and more.

This change helps consolidate color and background settings, so you no longer have to switch back and forth as in the previous version of the theme.

Let me know if you run into any trouble finding it—I’m happy to help further.

Thank you, adusman402. That worked. Now I have an additional question, how do I set the bottom of where the background ends. Again, I’m comparing the two websites, http://www.sccmarkansas.wordpress.com and http://www.springcreekinc.com. Somehow the buttom of the background image is being set, but I don’t see how. Any ideas?

        Hi there @spencer3d2e441b8a,

I’m glad to hear that worked! 😊

Regarding your follow-up question — it sounds like you’re trying to control how far down the background image appears on your site.

Classic themes generally extend the background image based on your site’s layout and content length. There usually isn’t a built-in setting to define where the image “ends.”

If you’re looking to have the background image stop at a certain height or section, that would typically require some custom CSS — which is available on the Premium plan and higher.
        See this guides for reference:

Just to confirm: are you trying to stop the background image at a specific section or limit how far it scrolls down the page? Let me know to help you further.
