Why can't I add a photo?

  Trying to add an image to my blog post, but when I click “Add Media”, nothing happens.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I am logged in, have been able to write a post and save it as a draft, but I cannot add photos to it. When I click “Add Media” the media window does not open.

  Are you the Admin of that blog, or just an author? Because authors cannot add images.

  I am both administrator and author. I have posted 4 blogs full of photos with no problem. Now suddenly, there’s a problem.

  This is interesting. There was a “Related Content” window under the editing window for my post. Most of the blog posts listed are not mine, and NONE of the thumbnail images are mine.

  Well, no, they wouldn’t be. That’s Zemanta, and its whole job is to recommend related posts from other blogs.

  What browser and version are you using? Chrome users are having serious problems with media lately.

  Okay, I think I’ve figured it out. Appearantly, WordPress works with the FireFox browser, but not Explorer. I don’t know why it makes a difference, but it does.

  WordPress.com should work with the latest version of Internet Explorer. Can you please check to make sure you have compatibility mode turned off? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view

  I will try that. Maybe I accidently switched it at some point. The notation in the trouble log will have to be “PICNIC” – “Problem in Chair, Not In Computer.”

  I am having the same problem. Media Gallery does not populate. Cannot upload images. Frequently logged out of WP when changing pages.

  I am using Windows 7 Problem began last night. I have tried everything suggested above.

  Also getting This Page cannot be displayed error when posting or updating. ( but the posts shows up) Getting the Page Error here as well. So this may not post. :(

  @ anne59474 – Do let me know if you continue to have trouble with this. Internet Explorer can be a bit fickle, and I’m happy to troubleshoot further if need be! :)

  @ tamaratattles – The problems you are having sound like a different issue than the one in this thread. Can you please make sure that you have third party cookies enabled? You can check your settings and read more about this issue here: Preview Problems and Third Party Cookies
