Why can't i add links or images ?

  i have been trying to post a new piece but the site is not letting me any images and when i try an add a link it takes me back to the dashboard

  What exactly happens when you try to add an image? Are you following this guide:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/

  Are you sent back to the dashboard when you try posting a particular link, or any link?
