Why can't I change my blog address?

    What can I do if the blog address is reserved?
    It says that the new address I want is reserved but when I type the URL, it says that the address does not exist. I assume it means that I can still take it. But, why can’t I change the name of my blog from whatstheocassion.wordpress.com to whatstheoccasion.wordpress.com?

    Note, I got the spelling wrong the first time. I was just trying to correct it so I made the change. It’s my first time to use WordPress, or any blogging site, ever. I hear wordpress has a good customer support. I hope you can help me.

    whatstheoccasion.wordpress.com doesn’t exist and can only be registered by the person with the matching username account.

    When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.
