Why can't I change the color of my header background?

    Good Evening,

I purchased the “Modern News” theme and I am having trouble with the Header. On the example, the Header of this theme is white like the rest of the components of the blog. But, when I purchased the theme, the header background is exactly the same color as the rest of the theme background (and is therefore different from the rest of the “newspaper”.) I don’t want this. I want a white background for the header. I have tried many “fixes” including importing a picture of just white, but that leaves a space between the header and the primary menu, which I also don’t want. To summarize, if you look at the sample theme you will see the title “Modern News” and its subtitle inside of a white-backtround header. When purchased, however, the header background is gray and cant be changed unless you change the color of the background, not the header. Please help! I want to use this theme, but this problem is a deal breaker for me. Thank you!

    Hi there,

The Modern News demo site, which you can view here:

    http://modernnewsdemo.wordpress.com/

Doesn’t use a header image. It just has the option selected to display header text with the tagline, which is how it has the look it does.

If you would like to know how to do more with this theme, you can always check out the support page for it:

    http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/modern-news/support/

And then there’s a forum dedicated to is use right here:

    http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/modern-news

Which is manned by the forum author.
