Why can't I change the URL I paid for?
-
I wanted to change the URL of my wordpress blog. I had originally bought and paid for angrygamers.net but the original purpose of the website was defunct when our group decided not to support the project. Ergo I decided to use it as my own page for employment purposes and use for potential employers.
The URL I wanted to use is “dantaylorgamedesign.net” so I can host a portfolio of my work and maintain a blog as well. However I am annoyed that I am going to be paying for something that is defunct. What does wordpress recommend I do? And could wordpress change the URL for me?
I do not want to pay for any other services, I simply want to change the blog URL and that is all.
Warm regards,
Daniel.

Registered domain names cannot be changed, and angrygamers.net has passed the 48-hour refund period.
In this case, you would need to register your desired domain separately. Once you have done that, I can also move the mapping for angrygamers.net to your new blog so visitors to the old site will be redirected to the new site.
Auto-renew has already been disabled on angrygamers.net so it will expire naturally next January.
