Why can't I comment on an article or reply to any comments?

  All I wanted to do was comment or reply to a comment on a story. To do that, ‘registering’ meant getting all complicated with having to devise a domain name, get free space and stuff implying I want to get all involved in some in-depth manner. Well, I went through all that, but am STILL unable to comment and make replies. What gives?
