Why can't I comment on others' blogs with my open ID?

I try to leave comments on other people’s blogs using the Open ID option, and when I type my listen2mama.wordpress.com name it tells me Your open ID credentials could not be verified. What does this mean and how do I fix it?? Thank you.

Can you clarify what you mean by the “Open ID” option? Are you referring to manually entering your email address, name, and site address in the fields versus signing into one of the offered services?
Also, could you point me to a URL where you’re having trouble leaving a comment and pass along the credentials you’re trying to enter? Just a note, any email will appear as “redacted” in the forum thread, but it will be visible to staff members.

This happens with all blogs that do not offer the Name/URL option for leaving comments.
When I try to comment with my wordpress account it tells me that I do not own that identity. Not sure why it says that since I am inputting the address of my blod http://www.listen2mama.com.
When I try to use the openID option it gives me the message I stated above.

Hi!
Can you try to use the WordPress option instead of the OpenID method? When you select WordPress, you should see the following menu:
In that pop-up, you’ll just want to enter “listen2mama”, not listen2mama.com.
Let me know if you experience success with that method!

I’m really sorry you’re still experiencing trouble! I just tested this out, and I was able to add a common on this Blogspot post using the OpenID method:

Could you by chance take a screenshot of the error message you’re receiving and add it to your media library so I can take a look?

Thanks for the screenshot. I’m not entirely sure why this isn’t working. I haven’t been able to reproduce the error message you’re receiving on my side. I’ve tried two different blog URLs:
jeremeyduvall.wordpress.com
allthetests1jeremeysblog.wordpress.com (just in case the number was the issue)I’m not sure what character Google thinks is “invalid”. Can you try the “preview workaround” mentioned here?

Essentially, press “Preview” instead of “Publish” and see if that helps.

I’ve tried that because I had seen the URL you provided, didn’t work either. I guess there’s no solution, how frustrating.

I’m really sorry Carmen! For now, I would recommend potentially using a Google username/password as recommended in that thread. I’ll keep tinkering though to see why this might not be working!
