Why can’t I connect to FTP server?? Help me!

  I’m trying to use FileZilla to connect to FTP server to upload some downloaded themes, this’s my first time to do this. I have always been blocked at “Waiting for welcome message…” and a following error message.
  Is there any additional account which is dedicated for logining FTP server? I just used the account which I used to log in my blog space.
  I need your help, thanks in advance!

  Do you have a blog hosted at WordPress.com? If not,then you need to read the sticky thread at the top of the forum marked Read Me First.

  If you do, then you need to realize that you cannot have FTP access to your blog, for security reasons.

  Yes, I have got my own blog hosted at WordPress.com (http://xniu.wordpress.com).
  Are there some security settings I should pay attention to?

  BIG one, there is no FTP server for wordpress.com blogs, so naturaly you cant connect to them

  We can’t upload themes here.

  The only ones we can use are the ones in your control panel – presentation – themes.

  Or if you know CSS you can buy the upgrade and customize one of the existing themes or start from scratch using the Sandbox theme.
