Why can't I create a WordPress widget for my website

  I have looked through all the help topics etc – and cannot find out how to simply create a WordPress widget to place on my author website. Is it not allowed? There’s lots of info about widgets – to be used on WordPress – but nothing about what I assumed should be simple enough.

  All my other social sites allow me to create a widget to embed into my website. Am I missing something?!

  Could you please be a bit specific on what sort of widget are you wanting to place?

  A widget that links back to wordpress – so visitors can see my blog – like they can link back to my pinterest boards, or facebook page.

  You could also use an Image Widget with a link, or a text widget with an image link, to your destination URL. See the Text Widget Links support page for the latter.
