Why can't I cut and paste what I've written from a document on my computer?

It seems there is no cut and paste feature as part of the tools. I am having to compose directly to the site and am not able to cut and paste what I’ve written from a document on my computer. What am I missing?

Hi there!
Instead of cut and paste, you can use copy and paste. Note that the copy and paste icons on the editor only work in the editor itself. So you’ll have to use ctrl-c or cmd-c to copy and then use ctrl-v or cmd-v to paste.

Besides the keyboard shortcuts @elzrjose gave, you can also cut/copy by highlighting the text in your word processor, right click with the mouse and select cut or copy, and then on WordPress.com right-click and paste.
Or you can use copy/cut button in your word processor and use the Paste as Text button in the WordPress.com editor (second row, fourth button in toolbar). This last option is best, as it will prevent incompatible formatting from being pasted in from the word processor.
