Why can't I delete the Home page?

  I got off on the wrong foot and started creating the ‘about’ page as if it were a home page (seemed logical). When I previewed I saw there was a home page. It was useless so I tried various ways to make it go away. Nothing works – even though I’ve managed to zap its content and move it to the trash, it still appears. Renaming the about page leaves me with two home pages. The way the instructions on the home page talked about it, I should have been able to delete it.

  The home tab is a link that is hard coded into your theme’s template. To replace it I’d recommend creating a custom menu at Appearance > Menus in your Dashboard. We have more details in our support docs.

  If you want to set the About page as your homepage we also have details on how to set that up.
