Why can't I embed my Pinterest board widget into my WordPress sidebar?
-
I have tried copying and pasting the given Pinterest widget embed code into a TEXT widget for the sidebar of my WordPress page and the widget fails. When I click to Save & Publish, the widget code is automatically changed (every time) to display only the links given within the widget code and WordPress discards anything else that would otherwise be considered the code.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Interestingly, Pinterest boards can be embedded in a page or a post but not in a text widget. This is possibly because the Pinterest embed code requires a Javascript file to be included, but adding Javascript is not allowed on WordPress.com due to security reasons.
This could be why Pinterest boards can’t be added as a widgets. I tagged this thread for staff’s attention so they can confirm it.

Hi there,
The Pinterest widget code doesn’t work on WordPress.com, period. That’s because it contains JavaScript, as staff-happychia explained, which is not allowed here.
You can embed Pinterest content in a post or page by pasting the link to that Pinterest content, but that method does not work in a text widget, only in posts and pages.

You’re welcome. Sorry it wasn’t better news :)
I forgot to include in my last reply: Here are the instructions if you do want to embed Pinterest content in a post or page instead:
