Why can't I enable publicize?

    Several hours ago I tried to set up the Publicize option with Facebook. I followed the directions carefully and got through the step “get app” and “click allow”. However, after doing this part, I am not getting the “success” message that your directions indicate, nor am I able to chose from any options of where to publish. After I click the “allow” button, I am taken back to the same Publicize page in settings but with no approval. However, my Facebook setting seem to recognize that I’ve enable the app.

    So, I tried to do a test post and the Publicize option said I wasn’t connected. I click Facebook under this Publicize part of the post and it just takes me back to sign up for Publicize again. However, if I try to click it at this point, it won’t let me. I have disabled the app from Facebook several times to start over but nothing is working. Your directions also indicate to disable and then re-enable from the Publicize page in WP but I can’t disable because I’m not connected in the first place.

    Perhaps I’m missing something. Please help. Thank you.

    Hi there – would you mind first trying a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox to rule out a browser-specific issue?

    Could you also please provide a link to the Facebook account you’re trying to post to? Is it a personal profile or a page? (You will need to use a Facebook account that has a profile with administrative rights to the page. A page-only account can not be used with Publicize.)

    Are you logged into this account when you try to authorize the connection?
